Advocacy & Public Policy

By addressing local issues and through its association with the Ontario and Canadian Chambers of Commerce, the East Kawartha Chamber of Commerce contributes to regional and national public policies and regulatory issues of concern to members and the communities they serve.

Local Issues

The Chamber's Public Policy Committee performs an advocacy role by ensuring that the interests and concerns of members and their communities have been well voiced and considered in the public forum. Details on local issues will be posted on the News page.

Ontario Chamber of Commerce

Through its network of local chambers of commerce and boards of trade, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce represents more than 60,000 businesses across the province. It works closely with governments, labour, academia, other business associations and groups to create a stronger and more vibrant economy in Ontario through research and advocacy. Link to site

Canadian Chamber of Commerce

The Canadian Chamber is the most influential business association in Canada. It is the national leader of public policy advocacy on national and international business issues and is focused on fostering a strong, competitive economic environment that benefits Canada and improves the standard of living of all Canadians.
